David Gano is a retired Calaveras County teacher with an M.A. in History from the University of the Pacific.  He has hiked, biked, and sauntered throughout Calaveras County tracking its historic roads and sites, as well as its geologic past and natural history.  He is a co-author of Your Guide to the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway, as well as an artist and musician. He lives outside of Murphys.
